Realmscraft: Acteon by Gary "Dagger" Heinstrom

In this addition, we take a look at the construction of Acteon.  There is also a revised version of the Play Realmscraft section with links to help and information websites.  If you are interested, or just want something built, you can follow those links and learn what you need to get the answers and assistance you want.

Realmscraft Project
“For over 20 years [Around 30], players in the Realms have met on weekends and played characters in a fictional world.  We have maps, and imagine that we come from lands with castles, roads, bridges, towns, and everything else that might fit a medieval fantasy theme.  Until now, those lands have lived in our stories, songs, poems, and fertile imaginations.  This project is an attempt to change that.
‘Realmscraft’ could never replace LARPing, but with the right approach it can be a tool to make our shared roleplaying experience deeper and more fulfilling than ever before.”

In service to the Realms,

Author’s Notes
Today in Realmscraft, we have a handful of new projects underway.  Members of the Blackwood province of Thorne Valley have joined the ranks and have begun the construction of their lands.  In the last issue we looked at Eagles Rook City.  Today, much of the nation of Eagles Rook, as a whole, is also well underway.   One of the longer running projects, and the focus of this issue, thus far is the construction of the City of Flying Tree in the Blackwood Province of Acteon.  Toah has been hammering away at temples, shops, arenas and taverns for many months.  Here is a glimpse at what he has come up with so far.

Brief History
Far to the west lies the humble yet dangerous land of Acteon.  A battle was raged at the base of a great tree.  At the end of the battle, the trees’ base had been destroyed but the tree remained floating high above the ground.  That tree became the name sake of the city that sprung up around it.  Flying Tree is now Acteon’s capital so named after a floating tree.

Lord Saegan Hart is the lord of these lands.  In recent years, the nation of Acteon swore to the Principality of Blackwood uniting its strength with theirs.

Welcome To:  Acteon
