Boff Brawl - Championship Final Fight

The Winner of the first championship semi-final match was: Tao with Samurai Jack!
The Winner of the second championship semi-final match was: Saka with Korra!
The Winner of the third championship semi-final match was: Kyro with Skeletor!
The Winner fo the fourth championship semi-final match was: Kindrianna with Leonardo!

Now all of these Champions who have survived through the grueling preliminaries and semi-final rounds will face one another in the final fight to determine the Ultimate Boff Brawl Champion!

Player 1 - Saka. Character, Korra.

Strategy:

This will be a legit fight, so it'll take some serious preparation and strategy. Korra's gameplan consists of 6 easy steps.

Step 1: Diplomacy
Contact Kyro a few days in advance and suggest it'd be entertaining to have Korra quickly dispatch the other two fighters, then have this whole thing end with Skeletor and Korra arm-wrestling for the championship. The anti-climactic end should appeal to Kyro and Skeletor's senses of humor, and the idea of their strongest opponent opting into a situation so vulnerable to hypnosis and physical attack should be irresistible. There's a good chance Kyro and Skeletor will do something treacherous before that point anyway, but that's what Step 3 is for.
Step 1: Check.
Step 2: Preparation
In advance, discuss Skeletor's strengths and abilities, any of Korra's physical or emotional weaknesses he may attempt to exploit, and plan to take Skeletor down no matter what happens, regardless of what illusory or predatory tricks he uses to try and throw Korra off her game. We saw what he tried to pull after his last victory. No quarter.

Also, gather lots of flower pollen and bring it to the fight.

Step 2: Check

Step 3: CONSTANT VIGILANCE
If Skeletor does anything remotely sketchy, skip to Step 5. Even if it's before the fight, or in the middle of Step 4.

Step 3: Check
Step 4: Do The Thing
When the fight starts, Korra's opponents will likely expect a sudden and devastating attack on the obviously-outclassed human and turtle who brought swords to a demi-god fight. She will happily oblige, because it doesn't matter how good you are at running, jumping, sword fighting, yelling quips, or tossing smoke bombs when all the ground around you for 100 yards is liquid beneath your feet, you plunge deep belowground with no available purchase, and those lovely, pointy swords are suddenly just as entombed in solid stone as you are when Korra returns from a low horse-stance to a focused and collected ready-stance. That was a long sentence, but we're still only a few seconds into the fight! (Note: If interrupted by a necessary jump to Step 5, mop up what's left of the swordsman and/or swordsturtle after handling Skeletor.)

Step 4: Check. Proceed to Step 5 or 6, as appropriate.

Step 5: Wreck (what's left of) Skeletor's Face
While Skeletor is powerful, he is also mortal. He barely survived having acid splashed in his face. He's been killed and reanimated. (Not that I hold that against him, who among us hasn't come back from the dead before?) He's overconfident and prone to self-destructive fits of rage when a plan doesn't go exactly his way. My favorite tidbit, however, is that while you wouldn't know it by looking at him, Skeletor has a crippling pollen allergy. Get some pollen in that hollow noggin of his and he's worse than useless. You know what's really good at keeping pollen out of your body? Silly things like nasal hair and eyelids. You know. Things Skeletor famously doesn't have.

With any luck the deal struck in advance with Kyro will give Korra the first move, but she'll be  expecting sneak attacks so it shouldn't matter much. Korra's not messing around with Skeletor - this matchup is Avatar State territory. She'll rocket into the air with firebending, then whip up a wind and use it to overwhelm Skeletor with the gathered pollen. He's got energy blasts, hypnosis, teleportation, dimension doors, and immense physical strength. The only weaponry he has that may not be metallic is the Havoc Staff. If Skeletor doesn't drop the staff himself while trying to keep from sneezing his teeth out, Korra will make the most of the skeletal sternutation and try to rip the Havoc Staff from his hands with metal bending. (Or earth bending if it turns out to not be metallic. Pretty sure that smooth purple rod is metallic though.) Once that's done, or even if she somehow isn't able to wrest the staff away, all Korra needs to do is keep her distance and maintain a barrage of boulders, ice shards, galeforce blasts of wind, maybe mix it up with a little fire. Every time Skeletor teleports it takes him a couple of seconds, and he can't fly. All of his ranged attacks are slow radial beams fired from his position, and he can't use multiple kinds of magic concurrently. Korra can easily outmaneuver and overwhelm him from the air with ranged area-of-effect attacks. Even if she gets hit with a few energy blasts, she's tanked significantly worse hits from Vaatu and come up swinging. The Avatar is notoriously resistant to external control when in the Avatar State, so hypnosis attempts are just a waste of Skeletor's time - something he'll have very little of. She. Will. Break. Him. Even beyond her competitive nature, nothing gets Korra invested in a fight like taking down some jerk who thinks he should rule the world. Skeletor's attempted antics after his last fight will just be fuel for the fire.

Step 5: Check. Loop back to Step 4 if skipped, otherwise continue to Step 6.
Step 6: Victorious Revelry
Korra is notoriously prideful after a big win. I'd say she's earned it.

Step 6: Pending vote!

Player 2 - Kyro. Character, Skeletor.
Strategy:
Regardless of the outcome of Operation Half-Decent Underlings, I would have Skeletor take She-ra’s Sword of Protection. Activating the sword would make Skeletor’s skin indestructible and grant him extraordinary strength.

At the beginning of the battle, Skeletor would teleport away to Eternia, steal an Eternian spaceship, and watch the battle from his crystal ball. If at any point the combatants agree to all work against him or if it was just Leonardo or Samurai Jack left, Skeletor would move to Plan I hope we didn’t host this in the Realms. If it is just Korra left, he would return to the battle field to accept an Arm Wrestle challenge.

Plan I hope we didn’t host this in the Realms:
Skeletor would fly to the closest asteroid belt and hurl the largest asteroids he can find towards the battlefield. While one would destroy all life on the planet, he would throw 3-4 to be safe. Skeletor would then return in the spaceship to claim victory.

Arm Wrestle challenge:
If Saka and Korra were to agree to the arm wrestle, Skeletor would accept. Skeletor would never pass up the opportunity to prove his strength and I would not deny him this. Skeletor would sheath She-Ra’s Sword as he doesn’t need its power to win. He would put on a spacesuit, so he wouldn’t need to worry about Korra removing the air or surrounding him with water in an attempt to suffocate him. Next he would throw on his Terror Claws as they increase his strength and add a little additional protection to his hand. Lastly he would put on a Corodite breastplate that Eternians use to increase their physical strength.

Skeletor would bring his pet dragon along with him to watch over the fight. If anyone else tries to help Korra, he would order the Dragon to put them to sleep with his Hypno-Mist breath.
As soon as the match begins, Skeletor would summon portals completely surrounding them so that Korra can’t bring any matter from outside to aid her in the fight. The only solid surface would be beneath them. If Korra was to pull any rock or metal up underneath them, Skeletor would summon a portal there as well and drop them both into space. He would close the portals and Korra would eventually succumb to suffocation.

If Korra were to use her free hand to summon fire to throw at Skeletor, he would use the Havoc Staff to redirect it at her. If she manages to bring any water into the fight, he would freeze it in place and toss it through one of the portals. If Korra continues to use her free arm for bending, Skeletor would throw his Mystic Chains at her to disable her free arm.

Skeletor’s base strength is far greater than that of any human. His armor would augment his strength even more. In the unlikely case that Korra manages to start to overpower him, he can draw the Sword of Protection and use the near unlimited strength it provides to win the arm wrestle competition.

Player 3 - Tao. Character, Samurai Jack.
Strategy:
The decisions you make and the actions that follow are a reflection of who you are. You cannot hide from yourself.

The sword strike evil
Rocks steel bones can’t hurt me
It’s time for firepower

A turtle, A skeleton, and a young bender walk into a bar, because they are never going to see it coming.

He can jump good, he can survive being hit by a beast the size of a mountain, repeatedly. He has fought lava monsters, robots in the thousands, and still he keeps coming. This time his strategy will be on the simpler side. Hit hard, hit fast, use the spikes on the motorcycle, use the guns, use the rocket launcher, hide, play the game.

It will be hard to overcome the power of the pack behind the turtle. He has fought many who trained together it will be done.

It will be hard to find the litch, but He is trained in jiujutsu once found It will be done.

It will be hard to get to the Bender, but he has survived more than they can do, it will be done.

Player 4 - Kindrianna. Character, Leonardo.
Strategy:
On the last episode of Boff Brawl, Leonardo managed to pull off a victory despite the disdain of his opponents and consistently being underestimated in each of his matches. Little did anyone know, Leonardo was, in true ninja fashion, saving the best of his abilities for last.

His opponents would have you believe that Leonardo is just a “turtle with swords.” This does him a great disservice as a character. So, let’s get this out of the way before anyone dares to tell him he doesn’t belong on the battlefield again. Some of Leonardo’s feats of strength include destroying an entire army of demons, defeating the Mystic Ninja, wielding the Gunshin sword (which is comparable to Raphael’s Banrai that could allegedly shatter mountains), holding open the jaws of a t-rex as they pushed down on him @ an estimated 12,800 pounds of pressure per square inch, (roughly 6 times more powerful than an alligator,) and turning into a freaking dragon. If that doesn’t convince you, canonically Leonardo has super speed and is shown dodging lightning bolts and laser guns which would mean he can react to things 280 times faster than sound.

Ultimately, Leonardo is a character with so much utility and skill that even Batman would approve. Using his Odachi blade, he would open a portal to get to Skeletor’s location and try to surprise/beat him up before he can run/teleport away or hypnotize anyone (or attempt those super-effective pizza tricks from the previous rounds). Skeletor may not be the strongest combatant on the field, but he is the most clever. If successful, Leonardo would next target Korra for their grudge match.

While her power is commendable, Leonardo did attain the rank of Jonin (Ninja Master) in his world. He has mastered ninjutsu that would be useful against opponents like Korra such as pressure point fighting which, as we have seen in the original Avatar series, can negate bending altogether. Even if she did manage to strip away his weapons with her bending (you’d have to ignore his super-speed stats), he would still have this formidable combat style to take her down. Leonardo has engaged in many hour-long battles with the Foot Clan before. His stamina is above and beyond normal, and he knows how to fight while injured. By Lore, the TMNT can survive being stabbed and still fight. Additionally, Jonin Leonardo has mastered the Healing Hands technique, which allows him to heal himself. He can fight unarmed, he can fight with swords, he can fight with laser guns (Korra struggled with electricity), and he can fight with his Ninjaken, which canonically, have been sharp enough to cut through metal! This is all before you consider A.) Leonardo’s ability to stay calm and make tactical decisions in the heat of battle, while Korra is known to fly off the handle, and B.) Leonardo could turn into a dragon and eat Korra.

What this fight should come down to is a bushido battle between Samurai Jack, and Leonardo, duking it out with swords the way battle was meant to be. But… Leonardo wins that too since Jack’s sword cannot hurt him and Leonardo is totally radical.

If all else fails, Leonardo turns into a Kaiju-dragon, manipulates fire, and then eats everyone. Afterward, he invites the entire Realms to a pizza party to celebrate his victory. The end.

Boff Brawl Semi-Final Match 4

The Winner of the first championship semi-final match was: Tao with Samurai Jack!
The Winner of the second championship semi-final match was: Saka with Korra!
The Winner of the third championship semi-final match was: Kyro with Skeletor!

And now for the last of the semi-final matches!!!

Player 1 - Kindrianna. Character, Leonardo.
Strategy:
Leonardo’s greatest weapon in this match, despite how cool his swords are (I’m looking at you, Aeston), is going to be patience. Drifting through the battlefield like a phantom out of a campfire ghost story, I’d instruct him to employ a combination of guerilla tactics, smoke bombs, and stealth right out the gate. In their first matches, two of my opponents relied on fighting defensively to gather intelligence, and ranged attacks respectively; neither of which they can do with Leonardo. Why? Because they cannot find him if he doesn’t want to be found, and they would exhaust energy and time in trying to find him, leaving them vulnerable to other opponents.

Janus utilizing Garnet’s Future Vision would prove problematic to this strategy, so Leonardo and I would resort to dirty ninja tactics by flooding the “rivers of possibility” as it were. Or startling Garnet so badly (not hard for a ninja) that they might unfuse.

Furthermore, Leonardo and I will rely on our opponent’s more destructive and flashy capabilities to create debris and hiding places, cover, and opportunity. If all else fails, the two of us can reminisce about the ’80s while Donatello invents a gadget to shut down all these wonky powers and bring the battle to a contest of swords and will, and no one is more defiant than a teenager with a chip on their shoulder.

P.S. Cowabunga.

Player 2 - Kovaks. Character, She-ra.
Strategy:
Any plan only lasts until first contact with the opponent. The best plan is to have no plan at all. Newbie flail, Falcon Scramble, whatever you want to call it. Button mash and hope for the best!

Player 3 - Saegan. Character, Korra.
Strategy:
Both Kovaks and Kindrianna stood back in the previous round, trying to allow other competitors  to interact to get the focus off of themselves. I would have Korra go directly for Kovaks/ She-ra first. Utilizing earth bending as a strong offense. Causing spikes of earth to erupt from the ground and demolishing She-ra quickly.

I would keep an eye on Kindrianna with Leonardo, so as to keep their stealth from being an end to me. Hoping that my initial assault on She-ra would cause Leonardo to go after Garnet, and the stealth and invisibility would over come them.

We’re Leo to come after Korra initially, I would assault him with water. Relying on his turtle nature to cause him to be free of fear of it. But I would simply freeze the water and leave him in stasis, disabled from the fight.

As for Garnet; the use of future vision and time magic is a conundrum, as being able to anticipate a person’s entire moves to is a strong match. However as a speed fighter I understand the importance of stillness. I understand that action requires time to react and decide. I would have Korra overwhelm Garnet with thousands of minor and unrelenting attacks to overwhelm them and remove the advantage of predictability by sheer overwhelming action.

Korra is a tournament champion and has the ability to destroy cities. We would win.

Player 4 - Janus. Character, Garnet.
Strategy:
So, first things first, be sure to go into the fight with the upgraded fists that Bismuth provided you.  That way you essentially have three blades on each fist, which is like having six swords.  Now that appeasing Aeston is out of the way, time to go on to the main strategy.

Protecting yourself:  Keep your fists closed unless you need to grab something.  Your gems are two of your biggest weaknesses, and as long as the gloves are on, they will be hard to crack or shatter.  Be careful about Korra and her earth bending, so do your best not to be her sole focus...well, if she realizes it’s you anyways.  If she starts moving the gems around, shapeshift to keep them attached to you while fighting back.  I know you can go all eldritch horror on her, like when you taught Pearl, Stephen and Amethyst a lesson about keeping secrets.

Now, Korra and She-Ra share a weakness.  They are hot-headed.  And if you arrange it properly, you can use that against Leonardo.  Use future vision to make sure it’s not a terrible idea, but if you shapeshift into Leonardo, and anger Korra and She-ra using your savage burns, you can have the three of them focusing on fighting each other.

When the dust clears, one should survive.  If it’s She-Ra, be nimble and get in really close, so you are in that zone where it’s really hard to use a sword.  If it’s Leonardo, use your rocket fists from range.  If it’s Korra, once again distract her, and an opening will show itself.  And when in doubt, trust your future vision.

Finally, if it looks like somebody is bringing in allies (I’m looking at you Leonardo), call in the rest of the crystal gems.  I’d like to see them stop a giant woman.

Boff Brawl Semi-Final Match 3

The Winner of the first championship semi-final match was: Tao with Samurai Jack!
The Winner of the second championship semi-final match was: Saka with Korra!

Now here is a brutal looking lineup for match 3!

Player 1 - Trent. Character, Leonardo.
Strategy:
Leonardo would first attempt to get She-Ra and Zuko on board with taking out Skeletor first. As a Skeletor victory would have serious ramifications to the Universe as a whole. He would then confer with Master Splinter on the tactics to use against the remaining competitors, fighting honorably. Relying on Donatello to keep Raphael and Michelangelo from a repeat of their dishonorable performance in round one.

Player 2 - Gordon. Character, Zuko.
Strategy:
Macro strategy: Zuko is an honorable fighter, and I would direct him to take either a 1v1 or a 2v2 in this scenario. I will use the fact that She-Ra and Skeletor are naturally predisposed to fight one another to either ally with Gwen or to separate myself from their fight completely and go toe-to-toe with Leonardo.

Micro: Leonardo and Zuko both fight Florentine, which will lead to an even match of skill between the two, tilted in favor of Zuko as he approaches due to his firebending. Leonardo lacks any arcane skills, and is accustomed to fighting as part of a team, whereas Zuko has had to fend for himself.
I now either have to fight Skeletor or She-Ra...

Against Skeletor, I think the best strategy would be to kite him and frustrate him. Zuko has heard every insult to the point where nothing fazes him, but Skeletor’s temper is legendary. Eventually, he will try to shoot lightning from his hands, overconfident and frustrated, and Zuko’s ability to redirect that lightning will be the key to victory.

Looking back to Gwen’s Quarterfinal match, she already defeated a Zuko by using the versatility of the Sword of Protection! If she opts for a long weapon using its transformation power, then I will keep her at range using firebending until the Honor of Grayskull compels her to match weapon styles, and then we have a legendary and clean fight!

Player 3 - Kyro. Character, Skeletor.
Strategy:
Skeletor's main tool for this battle would be his ability to hypnotize foes and control their every action. If someone happens to be able to reflect his hypnotize, he could reflect it back. If this leads to an infinite loop, Skeletor would teleport away and move on to the next step.

Given Skeletor's mastery of teleportation, I would have him first focus on teleporting away from any combat and moving me to a safe location. Once he is in a safe spot and all of the Champions are fighting each other, I would have him teleport in and hypnotize the players.

Anyone who hasn't command their champion to defend them would be easy prey.
He would tell the players to command their champions to ignore him and focus on the other enemies. While the champions ignore him, Skeletor would attempt to hypnotize them.
If Skeletor manages to hypnotize everyone, goto Operation Half-Decent Underlings.

If he managed to hypnotize any champions, he would command them to fight the other non-hypnotize champions. Even if they don't happen to win a fight, they would be the perfect distractions while Skeletor works his magic.

If She-Ra wasn't hypnotized, she would be Skeletor's first target. While She-Ra was busy fighting other Champions, Skeletor would take his time to line up a shot on the gem at the hilt of her sword.
Once the gem is damaged, she would lose the powers granted to her by Grayskull. She would turn back into Princess Adora and would be susceptible to Skeletor’s hypnotism. Once hypnotized, Skeletor would command Princess Adora to protect him and heal him if anyone managed to injure him.

Next, I’d tell Skeletor to make two pizzas.

We would both share the first pizza, so that we are not hungry and tempted to eat the second pizza. Skeletor would then collect some bitter almonds, extract their cyanide, and add it to the second pizza. Skeletor would deliver the pizza to the battlefield while disguised. No one could resist a slice of the pizza, especially not Leonardo.

Now, I know what you're thinking.
You monsters, you killed Leonardo!!!
Don't worry; he's a red-eared slider turtle.
The cyanide would incapacitate him, but it wouldn't actually kill him. Leonardo's species has a secondary method for producing ATP and can survive for weeks without oxygen.

Essentially, he would be stuck in a state of hibernation for a few hours while the cyanide is metabolized. Skeletor would take the opportunity to hypnotize him while he is unable to defend himself.

Lastly, Skeletor would head to the nearest grave site and reanimate some human bones.
Skeletor is able to reanimate dinosaurs, so I think he could handle a few human skeletons.
Knowing that Zuko can't reach blue flame temperatures with his firebending, these skeletons would be mostly immune to his fire.

It would take Zuko an hour or two of constant attention to calcify and destroy their bones.
Eventually the repeated punches and bites would take Zuko down.
If he managed to defeat a wave of skeletons, Skeletor would just summon another set.
Once he was knocked out, Skeletor would then freeze him into a large block of ice.
The moment he begins to wake up, Skeletor would hypnotize him.

With all of the champions is under his control, Skeletor would hypnotize the remaining players and move on to Operation Half-Decent Underlings.

Operation Half-Decent Underlings:
All combat is over.
I guess I win this round, but that doesn't really matter anymore.
We would all take a moment to fix up our weapons, heal wounds, and raise anyone who died.
Skeletor would then create a portal to Snake Mountain and we would all join him to plan an assault on Castle Grayskull.

Our first strike would involve the players and all of Skeletor old crappy minions.
Each player would take the charge of a siege of one of Eternia's cities.
If He-man or any of his kin go to fight us, they won’t be at home to defend Grayskull; otherwise, this just serves as a means to keep all of the terrible minions busy.

Skeletor and the champions would then attack Castle Grayskull.
With some decent minions, Skeletor would easily take over the castle.

He would finally have access to the secrets of Grayskull.

Player 4 - Gwen. Character, She-ra.
Strategy:

Okay, another tough fight ahead of us here with a lot of worthy combatants. But She-ra is smart and adaptable and has the tools to deal with each of them by changing her Sword of Protection into different weapons.

When facing off against Leonardo she would morph her sword into a pike and use her range to keep his florentine style back, not allowing him to advance on her while she slowly whittles him down with a fury of blows.

When toe to toe against Zuko she would transform the sword into a massive shield and rush in on him  deflecting any fire that he throws at her. Once in range she would bash him with the shield to knock him prone and then finish him off with her fists!

Skeletor is a tough and legendary advisory to all of the Masters of the Universe and She-ra certainly understands what a danger he is to all of Eternia and even Etheria. She knows his powers well and is smart enough to not get in range of his hypnotism or his lightning. She would transform her sword into a bow and rain arrows down upon him giving him no chance to ready a counterattack. When she has the opportunity to deliver a final strike she would transform the Sword of Protection into it's flame sword form and blast him with it.

Boff Brawl Semi-Final Match 2

The Winner of the first championship semi-final match was: Tao with Samurai Jack!

Now here is the much anticipated match 2!

Player 1 - Saka. Character, Korra.
Strategy:
"Alright, first up, I've prepared a run-down of Korra's seriously broken capabilities for the uninitiated. If you're familiar with ATLA/LoK canon you can skip the next two paragraphs, and to everyone else bringing the objectively most overpowered fighter on this roster to their fights: You're welcome.

Korra has precise and devastatingly powerful control of large and small quantities of metal, water, ice, steam, fire, rock, earth, mud, and air for a couple hundred feet or more in all directions. She can condense water from the air, and generate and dissipate blasts of fire at will, including from her breath when physically restrained. She's spent a decade and a half dedicated to nonstop martial arts training with the greatest practitioners in her world, including Aang's own waterbending teacher and wife, Katara and their airbender son Tenzin, until her masters judged that they had anything left to teach Korra. Also from Katara comes the useful ability to quickly heal traumatic injuries with waterbending. Mastery of acrobatics, able to propel herself through the air at will using any of the elements, and has the reflexes necessary to weave, deflect, and literally punch her way through barrages of projectiles. Korra's been simultaneously shocked by two cattle prods and come up swinging. She has sufficient strength to steadily lift and hold a average-sized grown man in front of her just with a single arm, and to throw a 200-300 pound man into a bank of metal pipes with enough force to break the pipes open (in both cases, this was unaided by her bending). Almost all of these strengths and skills are far above and beyond what her predecessor, Aang, is capable of. (That crucial detail will be relevant later on.)

So that's her physical prowess. Mentally, Korra fights with both unparalleled righteous passion and collected tactical instinct. Having trained since the age of 4 as the arbiter of peace and source of supreme spiritual and physical power of an entire magical world, she has become adept at processing information quickly and adapting to new situations on the fly. She has faced and overcome familial betrayal, the vitriol of modern politics and media attention, PTSD from countless traumatic experiences, and the consequences of plenty of mistakes. She has gone into fights against foes with unknown skills, weapons, and powers, and taken their abilities in stride as they are revealed. Examples of this including unarmed combat against the first use of electricity in a melee weapon in her world, resisting the control of a person who could psychically manipulate the blood in her body, projecting a 500-foot tall physical hologram of herself to fight, defeat, and purify the literal force of darkness and chaos in her world, and deflecting the energy of a nuclear warhead detonating a couple feet in in front of her to protect herself and another person. She and that person walked away unscathed, but the crater around them was half a mile wide. All but the last of those examples were accomplished without even using her Avatar State power boost.

This will, of course, still be a tough fight, because I'm assuming we're going for combat game/cartoon-style incapacitation here, not actual lethality. (Though this is the Realms, so if we're good with no-consequences lethality, then this fight can be summed up with 4 words: "You can't breathe rocks." None of the other three combatants are strong enough to resist Korra's earthbending, and burying them would only take 1-2 seconds. Aang might try to escape, but wouldn't be able to avoid Korra long enough to tire her out.) Even holding herself in check to avoid killing her opponents, Korra's immense power, dexterity, versatility, ferocity, and strength of will are unmatched. Conveniently, she has decades of experience defeating people and entities significantly weaker than she is without doing any permanent damage.

There are three ways this can go. Aang forfeits and Korra wins, she and Aang put off their inevitable concluding duel and face the other combatants first, or they duke it out from the start. Though Malaki with Aang may try to take advantage of the opening, I think it's most important that Korra immediately strips She-Ra and Lion-O of their metallic weapons, artifacts, and armor so they can't access any of the powers anchored within and try anything sneaky while Korra focuses on her real opponent. Neither target has anything in their skill sets or arsenals to avoid or defend against metalbending, so it's going to happen. Sorry Aeston, swords mean nothing here.

Take a second to shove the resulting hunk of metal a hundred feet underground, a couple more to imprison She-Ra and Lion-O inside 20 feet of solid rock, and less than 5 seconds into the fight it's already down to Korra and Aang.

Aang is a child. While he is capable of great wisdom and feats of bending prowess, has mastered the four elements, is light on his feet, and can also access the Avatar State, he is small, immature, and has only had a year or less of experience with 3 of his 4 elements. Korra's mastery of water-, earth-, and firebending all handily outstrip Aang's, and her airbending is comparable though admittedly less finessed. Hand to hand, she can match if not surpass his maneuverability and dramatically outclasses him physically. Even ignoring her greater skill, larger depth of experience, and raw bending power, Korra's competitive spirit and fiery passion gives her a huge advantage over Aang's aversion to conflict. When it comes down to combatants of comparable skill going toe-to-toe in a protracted fight, the one with the most grit wins out. This goes double for benders using the same element(s), since their bending is an extension of their personality and state of mind. It might actually take Korra a little while to wear Aang down, and she'll need to watch out for Aang's creativity mixed with Malaki's cunning. She'll fight with caution and dogged persistence, maintaining high ground and distance but prepared to dominate in close-quarters if necessary. This fight would be incredibly destructive and range over a wide area. But Korra is able to maintain a relentless barrage of attacks for minutes without letting up. All Aang will be able to do is deflect, run, and delay the inevitable. The best offense he'll be able to manage is blind backward pot-shots with whatever elements he has within immediate reach. Surrounding himself in rocks and catching his breath isn't an option: Korra is a better earthbender. Taking away Korra's bending isn't an option: Korra is a more experienced energybender and a larger, stronger, more resilient, and more competent hand-to-hand combatant. Aang will inevitably tire and fall to his reincarnation. She is a force of nature unlike any their world has ever seen.

This will get interesting once we have multiple Korras in a fight."

Player 2 - Malaki. Character, Aang.
Strategy:
Hands down this is going to be a tough battle. I would use Aang's high speed and great defense to maintain distance at first. By keeping distance we can make the swords less effective.

While they both have special powers, swords are a tool that need to be wielded to be effective. We would try and disarm She-ra and Lion-o with various bending techniques and then incapacitate them in a stone prison with earth bending.

Korra is a dangerous opponent with many of the same skills... many but not all. Ultimately, she doesn't have the same hate driving her that Osai did, but she is often just as rash. After getting her to act recklessly, we would try to get close and do some energy bending to take away her bending.

Now, Avender has a pack mentality at times, and if he calls in the Thundercats for back up, Team Avatar would roll in, and we would fully utilize Zuko, Toph, Katara, and Sokka. Oh snap! Guess which team has a sword now??? Not to mention a boomerang ; )

Calling in Team Avatar would be a last resort, and only if other combatants did it.

"How one wins is just as important as winning." - Uncle Iroh said this from the sidelines.

Player 3 - Avendar. Character, Lion-o.
Strategy:
My strategy against Malaki with Ang and Saka with Kora will be the same. They are each steady and rational thinkers, so my overall strategy is to hit them from many angles to keep them off balance while my bruisers move in to finish them. First I use the Sword of Omens to summon the Thundercats to the fight. I tell Cheetara, Wiley Kit and Kat to harry them while Panthro uses the thunder tanks a direct assault. Meanwhile I use the sword of omens to discover they're greatest fear and then have Tigra telepathically attack they're mind with that fear. Then I have Lion-o join the fray. While these are each strong opponents I believe that when attacked on all side as well as the mind they will fall.

Against Elizah and She-ra I would also begin by summoning the Thundercats with the Sword of Omens. Wiley Kit and Kat will use there explosive balls and bolo's to disorient swift wind while the rest of the team attacks She-ra. Lion-o and Panthro try wear her down and disarm her. Tigra uses his whip to lash her sword arm. If Lion-o gets in trouble Cheetara can whisk him to safety so he can recover and rejoin the fight. The main goal of the team is to disarm her from the Sword of Power,  once that happens it's Cheetara's job to scoop it up and run. Without the sword She-ra will soon fall.

Player 4 - Elizah. Character, She-ra.
Strategy:
This is a tough one! While going up against those who have the ability to bend all elements seems merely impossible if anyone could handle the challenge it'd be She-ra. I'll reiterate "super-human strength, enhanced speed & reflexes, and near-invulnerability" along with healing, telepathy with animals, and her incredible chief weapon The Sword of Protection. Oh yeah, and her handy companion Swift-Wind.

There's a lot to consider here but I think my strategy for Korra and Lion-o would shift slightly because I believe that Korra and Lion-o share a similar weakness in which they both tend to make rash decisions and act in haste and anger. Knowing that I'd wait for the right moment to strike keeping a healthy distance away but wielding The Sword of Protection to transform into whatever would be needed should anyone attempt to sneak up on me. I'd also likely have Swift-Wind in seeing range to alert me if danger was near.

For Aang I think moving in strategically and closing distance as soon as possible would be the best option as I'm confident in She-Ra's ability to strike him down and also defend herself from any elements he tries to throw at her using her Sword of Protection. (Protection is literally in the name!)

Similarly to last time, if at any point she was overwhelmed she would call in Swift-Wind, fly off, heal and return to the battle.

Boff Brawl Semi-Final Match 1

Boff Brawl has been upgraded to Championship Turbo Edition and the fights are sure to be even more epic during these upcoming four semi-final and one championship fights to determine who is the Ultimate Boff Brawl Champion!

Without further ado here is Match 1:

Player 1 - Raynor. Character, Finn.
Strategy:
Raynor and Finn both function very well together, we’re both human sword-fighters who are childlike and grew up in harsh lands, there is no hesitation stepping into this fight and we are in sync immediately. Our strengths combined, we are now made unstoppable. Now, onto our opponents.

Skeletor is an evil lich who uses magic and mind powers against his foes. Luckily for us, Finn has vast amounts of experience dealing with liches and has advanced mind-protection techniques from his time in the Land of Ooo. He has defeated worse liches before. Plus, Skeletor is pure evil and never wins. Plus as the most evil character it is likely he would be the first one attacked by the group. Radstar and Raynor can make up later.

Next, Aang. While Aang might seem a formidable foe, he is inadequately prepared against Finn. Both began as 12 year olds in their respective series, but by their conclusion Aang is still 12 three seasons later, while Finn has grown and is 17 by the conclusion of his own show. Finn can defeat Aang with the most dangerous weapon of all - knowledge. Finn experienced puberty - look out Aang, that one's a doozy! Is Aang prepared to learn that his parents aren't as great as he imagined? I don't think so! You might also think that Finn wouldn't fight Aang because he isn't evil - but by abandoning the world when they needed him most, he is directly responsible for thousands of deaths, including the near-complete elimination of his own airbender tribe. Aang is evil enough to be eliminated.

Lastly, Jack. Another sword fighter, valiant and prepared against Aku, his own dark nemesis. While in another universe they might have worked together, in this universe Jack is controlled by Tao. All we need to do is aim for the knees (might be strong on Jack, but I'm sure Tao would flinch for at least a second!) and that's the opening in an otherwise fairly even match. And if Jack isn't evil, Raynor can at least convince Finn that Tao is evil. He has taken large sums of my gold through unfair games! The house always wins! Can't go back to the past on that one, Jack.

Player 2 - Radstar. Character, Skeletor.
Strategy:
Using subterfuge I would have them all take one another out for me.

Player 3 - Freja. Character, Aang.
Strategy:
Aang has a slew of talents at his disposal, but most importantly he has incredibly high flexibility. He is able to think quickly on his feet and use the best strategy for a situation. This combines with his ability to easily bend any of the four elements to make him very difficult to predict. He has relatively high hand-to-hand skills especially used in concert with his bending. His air bending lets him escape from tight situations by simultaneously knocking his opponents back and rising above the battlefield to strike from above. He would try to keep his distance from opponents, relying on bending to make ranged attacks. His air bending makes his fighting style very fluid and defensive, focused on turning aside or dodging enemy attacks and counterstriking. And, if all else fails, Aang has the Avatar state—an incredibly powerful form that can wipe out entire armies in seconds. This would, however be a last resort as it only occurs when Aang is in true danger. His greatest weapons are his versatility and mobility.

Player 4 - Tao. Character, Samurai Jack.
Strategy:
The sword swings rightly
Honor guides its deadly blade
Betrayal possible

Skelator once found, He Can be sneaky,  is the first match I look for. The blade strikes bone as well as flesh. While they that control this unholy beast is my measure in experience; the might of the mountain will not fall to dust and bones. Get them in the open; dismantle them, one bone at a time.
Finn, half a team, strong morals, week shoulders, not an easy match. While I feel some conflict, I have seen his actions and deeds. The deeds that he so often has to go and fix; Never alone, always with friends. He cannot clean up his own mistakes alone. The person who decides the how and the where is cleaver, smart and a very valuable part of a team; But, alone? with no friends? he shall fall.
Aang, this will break my heart, but the Aang I know does not have the concentration to follow through, present a large wild beast and they will be too distracted to be effective. This pilot I know less of, expect more surprises, unusual strategies, but their inexperience will be there downfall. While I respect the person, in combat they are still a little too fresh.

Now for round 16!

Player 1 - Zarine. Character, Skeletor.
Strategy: I find myself to be quite capable, and as such I have chosen the combatant most like myself. There is nothing more powerful than scathing sarcasm and overwhelming hatred of others ineptness. His skill with alchemy is not to be overlooked, as even if the gods of the realm seem to have been trying to nerf it for years, they have colossally failed in that endeavor much like my opponents will fail to overcome Skeletor's sadistic cruelty. He's powerful with magic but it's not a crutch; when you don't immediately forfeit after he summons a mirror to show you how woefully unfashionably you fight, he'll simply cut you down while you wonder why all that fur didn't stop a sword blow. Oh, and he has a panther and he spent all the time he should have used coming up with a better name than Panthor training it to rip to your face off, which will be an improvement, honestly.

Player 2 - Artair. Character, Aang.
Strategy: I would tell him to focus on primarily defensive/avoidance, letting others fight among themselves and knocking his opponents into vulnerable positions with use of air gusts for both mobility and to knock opponents off guard..

Player 3 - Arryn. Character, Zuko.
Strategy: I would tell him to try to stay at range and overwhelm single targets.

Player 4 - Gwen. Character, She-ra.
Strategy: Trying to decide between several extremely powerful fighters was difficult but in the end I settled on She-ra. One of the skills I value most in combat is versatility and the ability problem solve whatever you face. She-ra's Sword of Protection is the ultimate weapon because it can become any other weapon and allow her to use what is best for the situation. She also has a wide array of extremely faithful friends that fight along side her, and that's what makes a person truly strong! In this battle I would tell her to team up with another fighter who has similar goals and work together to beat the others. Then challenge them to honorable combat when only they remain.

Boff Brawl - Round 15

The winner of Boff Brawl Round 14 was: Trent with Leonardo!

Winners so far:
Round 1: Avendar with Lion-o
Round 2: Freija with Aang
Round 3: Raynor with Finn
Round 4: Kindrianna with Leonardo
Round 5: Kovaks with She-ra
Round 6: Tao with Samurai Jack
Round 7: Saegan with Korra
Round 8: Kyro with Skeletor
Round 9: Saka with Korra
Round 10: Malaki with Aang
Round 11: Radstar with Skeletor
Round 12: Janus with Garnet
Round 13: Elizah with She-Ra
Round 14: Trent with Leonardo

Now for Round 15!

Player 1 - Ranger. Character, Goliath.
Strategy: Goliath is my pick. He is strong and can glide. He's got great leader skills. Since he's made of stone he is hard to take down. Sharp claws for max damage. Can climb anything... I'd have him watch the battle from up high. Learn who is the most likely to win the battle over all and the next two runners up. If an opportunity presents itself to take out one of those three top people without the other two around then do it. Strike hard and fast from above when you can. Fall back and repeat.

Player 2 - Gordon. Character, Zuko.
Strategy: Zuko’s early arc features him fighting with an almost uncontrolled ferocity that showcases his natural ability, but needs to be tempered with age and discipline, which he gains through his trials and tribulations. My favorite Zuko moment is The Last Agni Kai against Azula, where he was patient and collected, waiting for his opponent to make a mistake, and capitalizing on it for his victory. As a shield fighter, I understands this defensive posturing, which will bring Zuko victory in Boff Brawl.

Player 3 - Clove. Character, Korra.
Strategy: I would choose Korra because she has mastery over the elements. She’d just fight following her instincts.

Player 4 - Twenaria. Character, Garnet.
Strategy: This is really tough. While a talking turtle and the ripped yelling guy first caught my eye, I’m going with Garnet. She kicks ass while singing, and is two people in one. But get this: they are actually shiny rocks who make a BIGGER shiny rock. Her fashion is tops, too. As for fighting strategy, I would tell her the same thing I tell other fighters I’ve worked with. “Do your thing. Don’t die. I’ll try to keep up.”

Boff Brawl - Round 14

The winner of Boff Brawl Round 13 was: Elizah with She-ra!

Winners so far:
Round 1: Avendar with Lion-o
Round 2: Freija with Aang
Round 3: Raynor with Finn
Round 4: Kindrianna with Leonardo
Round 5: Kovaks with She-ra
Round 6: Tao with Samurai Jack
Round 7: Saegan with Korra
Round 8: Kyro with Skeletor
Round 9: Saka with Korra
Round 10: Malaki with Aang
Round 11: Radstar with Skeletor
Round 12: Janus with Garnet
Round 13: Elizah with She-Ra

Now for Round 14!

Player 1 - Kara. Character, Amethyst.
Strategy: Ok! I would choose Amethyst since we have decently similar fighting styles with maintains high mobility and damage dealt out. A good strategy to use here is to get light shots in on everyone early in the round, then move on to move heavy hitting stuff as the number of combatants go down and you get more space to move around, maintaining constant movement to prevent most hits.

Player 2 - Rubis. Character, Aang.
Strategy: Tell him to be as slippery as possible, avoiding getting into direct contact as best as he can.

Player 3 - Trent. Character, Leonardo.
Strategy: I would pick Leonardo due to his extensive martial arts training and brilliant tactical mind. Being a stickler for the rules, he would keep things clean but that wouldn't stop Michelangelo and Raphael from jumping into the fight anyway. If even this three on one wasn't enough, Donatello would assist as he could never sit by and watch his pizza scarfing compatriots be beaten.

Player 4 - Nymbous. Character, Skeletor.
Strategy: I would have him hang back as much as possible and let the others wear themselves out first.

Boff Brawl - Round 13

The winner of Boff Brawl Round 12 was: Janus with Garnet!

Winners so far:
Round 1: Avendar with Lion-o
Round 2: Freija with Aang
Round 3: Raynor with Finn
Round 4: Kindrianna with Leonardo
Round 5: Kovaks with She-ra
Round 6: Tao with Samurai Jack
Round 7: Saegan with Korra
Round 8: Kyro with Skeletor
Round 9: Saka with Kora
Round 10: Malaki with Aang
Round 11: Radstar with Skeletor
Round 12: Janus with Garnet

Now for Round 13!

Player 1 - Razmuth. Character, Garnet.
Strategy: Where she lacks in long range, she far and away makes up for in close range combat. She has incredible speed, strength, durability, and reaction speed (due to her ability to predict the future). I would have her use her speed and precognition to close the gap and swiftly dispatch her opposition, even if her opponent can attempt to fly away she can shape shift into something that can fly in order to give chase.

Player 2 - Grey. Character, Zuko.
Strategy: I like the cut of that young man's jib. I tell him to be thoughtfully aggressive. Use a mix of his kung fu and fire powers.

Player 3 - Mathies. Character, Skeletor.
Strategy: My fight strategy would be to have him use his magical abilities to summon magical constructs to engage hand to hand combat. I would then tell him to use the Havoc Staff to unleash balls of magical energy. Also any creatures sent against him, he would use magic to transmute them into harmless woodland creatures

Player 4 - Elizah. Character, She-ra.
Strategy: I would choose She-Ra. According to what I discovered about her, she has "super-human strength, enhanced speed & reflexes, and near-invulnerability." She can communicate with animals telepathically!? I mean, who wouldn't want that?  She also has the ability to heal injuries?? Sounds useful to me.  Lastly, she can even transform her chief weapon, "The Sword of Protection," into other weapons, which we can choose based off of her competitors.
What would my strategy be? She would probably have Swift-Wind on stand by as flying may come in handy. Other than that since The sword of protection is her primary means of attack and defense, I would tell her to just go for it attempting to close any distance between herself and her opponent as she would only have her sword. She would adapt the sword to whatever would be needed in that specific time. If at any point she was overwhelmed she would call in Swift-Wind, fly off, heal and return to the battle.

Boff Brawl - Round 12

The winner of Boff Brawl Round 11 was: Radstar with Skeletor!

Winners so far:
Round 1: Avendar with Lion-o
Round 2: Freija with Aang
Round 3: Raynor with Finn
Round 4: Kindrianna with Leonardo
Round 5: Kovaks with She-ra

Round 7: Saegan with Korra
Round 8: Kyro with Skeletor
Round 9: Saka with Kora
Round 10: Malaki with Aang
Round 11: Radstar with Skeletor

Now it's time for Round 12!

Player 1 - Umbra. Character, Shredder.
Strategy: I’d tell him to use the plastic straws!

Player 2 - Grindin. Character, Jake.
Strategy: Oh, I'd pick Jake fo' sho'. Turn into a giant hammer and smash smash smash. If anyone used a sword he would nimbly avoid it with his shape shifting powers.

Player 3 - Janus. Character, Garnet.
Strategy: Use time magic... um... I mean... Future Vision. It's hard to lose when you know all the moves an opponent is going to make.

Player 4 - Tirvanel. Character, Zuko.
Strategy: I'd probably pick Zuko due to knowing him, and I'd tell him to play it safe and let others pick each other off.

Boff Brawl - Round 11

The winner of Boff Brawl Round 10 was: Malaki with Aang!

Winners so far:
Round 1: Avendar with Lion-o
Round 2: Freija with Aang
Round 3: Raynor with Finn
Round 4: Kindrianna with Leonardo
Round 5: Kovaks with She-ra
Round 6: Tao with Samurai Jack
Round 7: Saegan with Korra
Round 8: Kyro with Skeletor
Round 9: Saka with Kora
Round 10: Malaki with Aang

Now it's time for Round 11!

Player 1 - Kyara. Character, She-ra.
Strategy: I'd pick She-ra because she transforms into a seven-foot, shredded, agility ridden beast who can use magic to make her sword do whatever she needs. Also she can use magic to make sheilds.

Player 2 - Zattara. Character, Demona.
Strategy: I'd remind her to use her wings. Fly until the rest fight each other and weaken themselves.

Player 3 - Radstar. Character, Skeletor.
Strategy: Skeletor would be my pick. We’re both kinda evil and both have spells and yet never seem to win.

Player 4 - Syruss. Character, Aang.
Strategy: It's hard not to pick Aang and rely on the Avatar Form with the combination of the years of experience in combat from past Avatars.

Tuesday, April 21, 2020

Boff Brawl - Round 10

The winner of Boff Brawl Round 9 was: Saka with Korra!

Winners so far:
Round 1: Avendar with Lion-o
Round 2: Freija with Aang
Round 3: Raynor with Finn
Round 4: Kindrianna with Leonardo
Round 5: Kovaks with She-ra
Round 6: Tao with Samurai Jack
Round 7: Saegan with Korra
Round 8: Kyro with Skeletor
Round 9: Saka with Kora

Now for Round 10!

Player 1 - Jean Bapbeast. Character, Jake.
Strategy: I'll tell him to use his shapeshifting to take advantage of his misleading hitboxes.

Player 2 - Malaki. Character, Aang.
Strategy: Obviously I'll chose Aang cause he's the master of all 4 elements. I'd definitely use his bender ability to full advantage with some cheeky tricks.

Player 3 - Elouan. Character, Amethyst.
Strategy: I would have her focus on offense, either exploiting enemy's weaknesses or creating openings for allies.

Player 4 - Shean. Character, Lion-o.
Strategy: I'd have him fight with the Sword of Omens and claws and have the Thundercats back him up with their specialties.

Thursday, April 16, 2020

Boff Brawl - Round 9

The winner of Boff Brawl Round 8 was: Kyro with Skeletor!

Winners so far:
Round 1: Avendar with Lion-o
Round 2: Freija with Aang
Round 3: Raynor with Finn
Round 4: Kindrianna with Leonardo
Round 5: Kovaks with She-ra
Round 6: Tao with Samurai Jack
Round 7: Saegan with Korra
Round 8: Kyro with Skeletor

Now for Round 9! This round puts us half way through the preliminary matches!

Player 1 - Thoril. Character, Aang.
Strategy: I would choose Aang, and the strategy would be to use air bending to keep his distance from the others taking pot shots at them and to prevent other opponents from taking flight to maintain air superiority. He'd use earth bending for surprise hits from below and to keep them off balance by messing up the terrain and water bending if they should close the gap to mid range and using the classic water hand whips to grapple and attack, suffocating them if he can enclose their head. Finally a combination of fire and earth bending in close range, fire for the main avenue of attack using the hands and occasionally using earth bending with the feet to as a surprise attack form outside their field of view. Saving the Avatar state as a last resort trump card to just overpower the opponents.

Player 2 - Runaris. Character, Samurai Jack.
Strategy: I would tell him to often take an aggressive approach unless outmatched then take decisive strikes. So I would ask him to be aggressive to start.

Player 3 - Isla. Character, She-ra.
Strategy: She would use empathy and sword of protection. Deflect first when possible, use body throws.

Player 4 - Saka. Character, Korra.
Strategy: I'd pick Korra, no question. Power, versatility, speed, reach, and range. What more could you want in an avatar?

Tuesday, April 14, 2020

Boff Brawl - Round 8

The winner of Boff Brawl Round 7 was: Saegan with Korra!

Winners so far:
Round 1: Avendar with Lion-o
Round 2: Freija with Aang
Round 3: Raynor with Finn
Round 4: Kindrianna with Leonardo
Round 5: Kovaks with She-ra
Round 6: Tao with Samurai Jack
Round 7: Saegan with Korra

Now for Round 8! This round puts us half way through the preliminary matches!

Player 1 - Higer. Character, Lion-o.
Strategy: Sight beyond sight and a kick a** squad, that’s all you need! Plus the Thundercats have a tank.

Player 2 - Kwido. Character, Aang.
Strategy: I would have him try to sneak around unnoticed and then pop in for very short bursts of combat when the enemy is weak.

Player 3 - Alpacasaurus. Character, Marceline.
Strategy: I'd tell her to try to team up with another competitor until it's just the two of them left or until time is almost out. Shortly before that happens, tell her to start trying to reach a position where she can eek out the victory.

Player 4 - Kyro. Character, Skeletor.
Strategy: Just go invisible and freeze people.

Thursday, April 9, 2020

Boff Brawl - Round 7

The winner of Boff Brawl Round 6 was: Tao with Samurai Jack!

Winners so far:
Round 1: Avendar with Lion-o
Round 2: Freija with Aang
Round 3: Raynor with Finn
Round 4: Kindrianna with Leonardo
Round 5: Kovaks with She-ra
Round 6: Tao with Samurai Jack

Now for Round 7!

Player 1 - Rillan. Character, Goliath.
Strategy: I would have him approach fights with intelligence and utilize his strong leadership prowess to protect and accomplish his goals. Use strength and attempt to keep rage in battle as a last resort to win.

Player 2 - Tuilli. Character, Steven Universe.
Strategy: Steven would be my choice.  He should use a blended strategy, combining his agility,   shield, and Connie's sword. Finally he should be able to call on the laser light cannons as a finisher.

Player 3 - Saegan. Character, Korra.
Strategy: I’d choose Korra, and utilize her pro-bending styles and avatar form to take down my foes from afar and then simply overpower them.

Player 4 - Killian. Character, Zuko.
Strategy: He is determined and has range with the fire bending. And maybe even lightning bending depending on what season it is. Strategy would just be aggressive.

Boff Brawl - Round 6

The winner of Boff Brawl Round 5 was: Kovaks with She-ra!

Winners so far:
Round 1: Avendar with Lion-o
Round 2: Freija with Aang
Round 3: Raynor with Finn
Round 4: Kindrianna with Leonardo
Round 5: Kovaks with She-ra

Now for Round 6!

Player 1 - Tao. Character, Samurai Jack.
Strategy: Ducking and dodging, spinning and slashing, winding a ribbon of destruction through the enemy. Favoring the style of many small cuts with little risk.

Player 2 - Shader. Character, He-man.
Strategy: I would choose He-man and always ask "Hey baby, wanna see my Sword of Power?" Before every fight. Then attack while they laugh or cringe.

Player 3 - Eldritch. Character, Aang.
Strategy: Since I have to choose an "avatar" I will of course choose Aang who will use the power of the air and other elements to freeze and shrink He-man’s sword of power.

Player 4 - Mogar. Character, Goliath.
Strategy: Probably something defensive.

Thursday, April 2, 2020

Boff Brawl - Round 5

The winner of Boff Brawl Round 4 was: Kindrianna with Leonardo!

Winners so far:
Round 1: Avendar with Lion-o
Round 2: Freija with Aang
Round 3: Raynor with Finn
Round 4: Kindrianna with Leonardo

Now for Round 5!

Player 1 - Iawen. Character, Garnet.
Strategy: I'd tell her to do her best, and realize that with the exception of Steven Universe all of her other opponents are not above being devious/clever in a pinch, so to keep her wits about her. Also, should she break into Ruby and Sapphire, to just focus on the dance and love (get back together when ready).

Player 2 - Kovaks. Character, She-ra.
Strategy: I'd tell her to act very defensively, dodging, using protective abilities, and staying out of range until at least one other player is eliminated. She'd use that time to try to learn her opponents’ strategy to best be able to defeat them in the end-game.

Player 3 - Jericho. Character, Zuko.
Strategy: I would pick Zuko. I would advise Zuko to use his flames to keep the other enemies closer together so they would be more likely to fight each other first. I would also advise him to use his head and make rational judgments about when he should press the fight or temporarily retreat. I would also remind him to keep an eye on the sky as many of the potential opponents have the chance to attack from above.

Player 4 - Charwindle. Character, Leonardo.
Strategy: Is “all out attack” an option? I do that.

Tuesday, March 31, 2020

Boff Brawl - Round 4

The winner of Boff Brawl Round 3 was: Raynor with Finn!

Winners so far:
Round 1: Avendar with Lion-o
Round 2: Freija with Aang
Round 3: Raynor with Finn

Now for Round 4!

Player 1 - Hildegard. Character, Steven Universe.
Strategy: I would go with Steven. We're both healers who specialize in defense who don't really want to fight, but to solve a conflict. Ultimately, she'd tell him to use a bubble or shield to block hits until the other fighters are tired out, and then try to use conflict resolution skills to end the fight.

Player 2 - Kindrianna. Character, Leonardo.
Strategy: I'd tell him to utilize his ninja stealth and lifetime of training to strike at superior opponents when they are vulnerable or least expect it.

Player 3 - Pilpus. Character, Korra.
Strategy: I would probably go with Korra, as Korra is the most attuned to the elements, which is what I'm all about. As for strategy, Korra arguably has the most raw power on this list, only comparable to Aang but I’m assuming Korra would have access to all of Aang's memories via the Avatar spirits or whatever, meaning she could capitalize on all of his weaknesses. Assuming nobody on this list has the ability to manipulate time and space (which I’m not sure on Steven Universe's power set), the incomparable versatility of the Avatar is basically unbeatable. She has the ultimate defense and offense that fits Pilpus’ perspective the best so from there it’d just be out maneuvering the competition with her superior versatility.

Player 4 - Daekara. Character, Samurai Jack.
