The Grimloch Tribune

The Grimloch Tribune

By Callahan “Syruss” Marsden

LEAD STORY: A Champion Emerges.

Grimloch would like to take the time to welcome its newest and current champion XT of Grimloch. XT is joining the ranks of other illustrious champions such as Sir Guilliam, Sir Rohde (two time champ), Warlord Jaha, Priest Syruss (two time champ), and Sir Meeble.

The Gauntlet was lined up and the warlords stood at the end looking upon their soldiers willing to fight and die for their nation; they calmly looked on and asked all who wished to fight for the title champion of Grimloch to please step…and before they could finish their words the ranks depleted and nearly everyone had stepped forward.

Every competitor was looking to test their mettle against their peers, past champions attempting to prove their salt just one more time.

Swords clashed, armor links flew, and limbs were severed; unfortunately Yimmit was not around to mend the wounded so the bulk of the healing fell on the rogues Vuel and myself (Theddy Quill). We mended the fallen as fast as we could, so they could witness the outcome of the brazen battle.

After XT beat down most of his competition all that stood between him and the coveted title of Champion was Vuel. V fought with honor and did his countrymen proud however in the end XT’s quick movements and precise swings would make him the victor.

He stood before his peers a taller man this day; today he was the best of the best.

More Trouble from the front lines of Grimloch: Akakios’s undead holding strong in Grimloch towns.

More devastating news from the Grimloch lines that I, Theddy Quill; bring to you today from beyond the undead battlefields. Akakios has been busy over the course of the year, re-capturing many liberated villages and causing general discord throughout the lands of Grimloch.

T.H.U.G.S have been working around the clock to try and infiltrate and reclaim many of the lost cities.

Fortunately for Westwood, Damien Redblade was patrolling the area when a small insurgent army decided to attack:

Four Undead warriors controlled by one stationary Necromancer started to invade the town. Damien Redblade made quick work of the undead with his sword and marn. He flanked the four causing them to stagger out of their line formation. The necromancer’s eyes glowed red as he tried to manipulate the corpses back into a line but by that time it was too late.
He made short work of the first undead by shoving his sword right through the socket of his eye, the next undead fell victim to the butt of his marn as he ran by to jump and come down on the last two with a mighty thud (each blade entering an undead skull).

“Well that was easy” Damien said.
As he turned to go finish off the dagger wielding necromancer, he saw that all of the corpses were starting to rise.
Their eyes were glowing red and the wounds were starting to close, well as best as rotting corpses wounds could close.

“I see, well then time for something different!” Damien exclaimed as he leapt back into battle. This time instead of meeting the undead head on he went wide and only severed limbs while making his way to the necromancer. As he approached the vile villain the necromancer stopped his incantation his eyes stopped glowing red and the undead behind Damien fell to the ground once again lifeless.

“Magic Missile, Magic Missile, MAGIC MISSILE!” the necromancer screamed as he hurled his magic at the Grimloch warrior. ***pa-tink pa-tink shooom*** Each of the spells was easily defeated by this seasoned veteran. Damien started raining blows upon the caster, he kept hitting after he was down, he kept hitting after all the bones were broken, he kept hitting until…until… until there was NOTHING.

Then with no remorse for the corpse he reached into the goo and cloth and pulled out a small vial. “No regenerating for you good sir.” Damien said as he uncorked the phylactery.

Westwood was saved this day do to the courageous efforts of this one man and they are free to continue to produce the cure for the lingering disease of undeath.
