Prepare yourselves, friends. It is time for your taste buds to
delve into a thrilling sequel of culinary delight. That’s right, I’m talking
about Feast of Verai 2: Festival of Cerwyden.
Feast of Verai, as we
know it, appeared for the first time last year and did not disappoint. It
offered adventurers of the Realms a chance to be immersed in the world of New Verai from the interactions with a wide variety
of colorful characters and NPC’s, down to the thematic and delicious fare.
Emphasis on delicious. I seem to recall a tomato shorba that I could not put down, as well as sweet-fig honey balls and
basbousa that practically melted in the
mouth. I have heard that kitchen staff plans to experiment with some new dishes
this year, and personally, I don’t want
to miss new tasty noms after what I’ve
already experienced from this team.
If the delicious food isn’t enough to get you to go, then I
shall draw your attention to the fun atmosphere that the team strives to
create. Last year we learned a little bit about a cultural tradition in the
lands of New Verai. Cerwyden turns political structure on its head;
it is a festival where Lords are expected to wait on and serve their people as
a way of restoring balance to the world. In addition to this unique culture twist,
the hall will feature the re-opening of the New Verai Gaming Den. Camel racing
is fast becoming a staple of New Verai entertainment, so for the full experience, you’ll want to try your hand at it
or the cribbage tournament. Sounds like this year promises to have some new fun
in the form of Gladiator Pits too! Do you have what it takes to complete the
challenges and win a grand prize?
Lastly, for you
intrepid adventurers always looking for the next battle… while the Gray Lady
may be defeated, there lurks another threat just around the corner if the
rumors are to be believed. They say that
a strange voice can be heard on the night winds crying out for “More Power!” The
words are usually followed by cackling laughter. Who is this mysterious being
and what are they plotting? The only way you’re going to find out for yourself
is to show up and investigate. I know I will be. Can’t wait to see you all
there!
