If you read nothing else, let it be this: I have been informed by multiple people that have received visions of sieging. I’ve heard two tales, one where we don’t bring pikes and door shields, and one where we do. I believe we want the pikes and shields on the field.
Vesper and Orion were having a conversation recently about the evolutionary divergence of the species we call Kobolds. How up in Blackwood, they have draconic resembling features, while in the lands of Chimeron, and Rhiassa, you are more likely to see Kobolds with fur, and dog-like snouts. This got me thinking, that Dragons have a similar evolutionary divergence. In that, we have seen so many different types of dragons over the years. Long necked and wingless. Massive. Tiny. Hellish. Smart. Bestial. It’s a truly diverse range of creatures that all sort of fall into the label of “dragon.”
And over the past year or so, adventuring in the lands of Chimeron, and investigating if Blackwood Joe was breaching sovereignty of my lands, with potentially illegal archeological investigations, I’ve learned a lot about a newly discovered dragon culture.
Blackwood Joe is actually great, but I’d rather focus on the dragon culture. Through information crystals, or lab logs, we learned that there was a war that the dragons were involved in that drove some of them underground. Their Heartstones destroyed, and some elite scientific officers were doing some experiments to try and create synthetic ones. The experiments lead to some breakthroughs, and some really fascinating magics, that lead me to wonder if they were able to create synthetic souls; but it seems that their “Project Prism” came at a cost, as something happened and the bones of their people started to crystalize.
We have seen something similar to this happen to Blackwood Joe. Which we were able to fix by destroying a factory for some terrifying golems. I suspect we may be able to help the Draconian people, by breaching their Black City, making their stasis inert, and perhaps destroying the source of their corruption.
I’ve barely touched on the information that we know. I haven’t spoken on the Ember Company. An order that seems to be burning these peoples libraries, for reasons unknown to us. I haven’t gone in depth about the crystals. Turtle Crabs. For the love of god bring your hammers, people.
I have so many questions I’m seeking answers to. It’s why I’m going, and I hope you’ll be there to help me.
See you on the field,
Saegan

On an out of character note- This team has done such a wonderful job blending their combined loves of the game to create such a rich and meaningful quest line, between interesting mechanics, wonderful props, and just a dedication to excellence, I think it would be a crime not to note that I’m just genuinely excited to see what they come up with this time.
