WIWTG: The Gilded Lion and Silver Branch Summer Festival IV

 By: Kieran/Kyra “Omri” Barry

Dear Friends (and yet to be friends, and others) of the Realms,

Did you know the first Summer Festival was simply Gilded Lion Summer Festival, back in 1015? Post the Quiet Year(s) it was rebranded with an addition of Silver Branch, for its collaboration with Chimeron, making this the fourth Gilded Lion and Silver Branch Summer Festival, though it’s the eighth overall of the Rhiassan Gilded Lion Summer Festivals. And what can be expected of the fourth eighth event of this series?

FOOD. QUESTING. FRIENDS. FUN. Hopefully in a quick lookover those words catch your eyes so you’ll read the rest of this. This event has the same feastocrats who bring the wonderful food of The Leviathan, now in fun, fair format. I recall a few years back when Fern’s delectable cookies were part of the desserts, for free. Now one can pay with the funny green stuff at select opportunities to get customized Fern cookies. They, the feastocrats, change it up but keep it delicious.

This summer will also debut the Heir of the Realms questing, as young adventurers must investigate Age Lines that us older folks cannot cross. Do you trust the children to investigate these strange occurrences? You must, for no elders can do it for them.

While the youth are off on their adventures, or cared by Rhiassan’s Cub Care under the dutiful watch of Isla, I anticipate the other opportunities for adventure offered. Over the years the fragments of Ragnorok have been a presence, but once we have resolved that, dino steed jousting has taken the fields. Dino steeds are provided if one has not already bonded with their own steed, though as one with his own steed I cannot understate my appreciation for my raptor ride, Baby Blue. She’s not the easiest to fight on but she’s loyal and a real tank when the blows are coming.

Summer Festivals are quick and easy ways to get an understanding of some going ons in the Realms, in bite sized chunks. My only complaint is that I can’t be at all the going ons at once, as there are several each hour, something for everyone, hopefully.
