I joined Grimloch because Ben (Rohde) and Chris (jaha) said they would help become the best me I could be.They were also the ones I saw at every event and they always seemed to be having fun.So I guess I joined Grimloch to be the best and have tons of fun.
for the sense of family
I have always joined a nation for the same reason: To play with the people I want to spend time with. If a group is already your family OOC, it makes sense to join IC.Thankfully, after so many years in the game, I have friends across the Realms... but Chimeron is definitely home.
I joined Mayerling because they were the folks who sort of took me in at Wednesday night practice and gave me my roots. Whether it be equipment wise or etiquette and larping conduct, or even just socially!
I joined Creathorne because of Freesia and Sir K. I was new and they scooped me up and took me in teaching me how to fight and do what was right as a player and a person. It's a bummer that neither one are in the nation anymore, but I am appreciative of what they taught me.
I joined Creathorne because of my friend Jim (Quaran). It became a natural fit when, because of him, I was always with and around the other Creathorne members, such as Bean, and especially Sir Sean. They were also appealing in that it wasn't too hard-core, it was casual and very family like. It hasn't changed since I got in in 1999. -Mullet
No nations. Nations are awful.
I feel that when I started playing that the game was much more based on physical location. Players in the Nashua NH area went to the Nashua fight practice and because we all knew each other when a nation [Blackwood] was started in this area [Salem] by Paul [Nigel] it was the natural thing to simply join that nation. Things have changed a lot since then. Blackwood died while I was on hiatus. When I came back I restarted it as Idaris [a province of Blackwood], and built it back up until I could finally feel comfortable with taking back the name. During that time I because friends with a lot of new people, and made my extended family in the realms into more than just one nation. There are people in many nations that I consider friends now. The two greatest concentrations of those people are in Blackwood and Folkestone now. When I ever join another nation you can be sure that it will because I feel they are already my family.
So, I had a huge/long something about transitions from one nation to the other... but it is not needed.Family - I joined the nation(s) I joined because I felt a sense of belonging and family. What more can you ask for?
The Nation I truly wanted to join didn't exist, so I created it, with tons of help of course.
I joined Ornlyre (Sp?) because my mother did.I joined Dragon's Breath because my friends wanted to. Two or so days after that the group collapsed. I joined White Coast becuase Jonney asked me too. White Coast, though goofy, became like family. After the fall of White Coast I joined Idaris/Blackwood becuase a friend said he thought they were cool and that he was interested. I guess you could say I joined with nations where I felt welcome and comfortable. -Dagger
