Why I want to go - NedenGiving -
by Justin "Dresden " Theriault
The
holiday season is upon us and that means two things, Hedonism and Charity!
These are the times that we indulge in a little extra, enjoy a little more, and
settle for a little less. In doing so, we realize how thankful we are to be
able to enjoy so much of what we do, and that in turn motivates us to reach out
to those who have less, and help them in any way we can. In that respect, I
invite you all to join myself and my Neden bretheren at Nedengiving!
Let's
be honest, When you think self indulgence you think Neden, so who else could
throw a Thanksgiving worthy of the name? Food will be in abundance as we
celebrate friends and family, and enjoy heaping plates. Turkey, Ham, Stuffing,
mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce are just the start - enjoy mouth watering
appetizers and delectable desserts that will make you wish you enchanted
yourself a second stomach!
There will be games of chance and of skill,
fighting, and general merriment. The corn's all been harvested, but the
cornhole board is ready. The Turkeys have been slain, but there's still plenty
of things that may need killing. Pin the Brain on the zombie, pinata, ring
toss, plinko as well as other games will be there for your enjoyment! Don't
forget to hit the New Eden Casino and play some cards! There will be a bardic,
and in Neden in-house magic items will be going out all feast long!
Most
importantly, here in Neden we are running our first Feast Can Drive. Bring as
many as you 'CAN'. Can Goods will go to the local Veterans Outreach Center in
Haverhill www.northeastveterans.org
- VNOC in Haverhill helps with schooling, housing and most importantly food. I
cannot stress enough how important it is to give back this time of the year as
it's the hardest for many who the complex emotions this time of year can bring,
in addition to dealing with hunger and homelessness. Leftover can goods will be
donated to Somebody Cares New England http://www.somebodycaresne.org/
Players that show up with five can goods will get
$5 dollars off of the door. Any extra can goods will result in tickets for our
auction.
In short, show up next Saturday November the
26th, and you'll be thankful you did.
